Things to Know About Human Hairpieces

Human Hairpiece

Thinning hair is a stressful problem for many people no matter the age or gender. The root causes are multiple and they require proper diagnosis and treatment as well. Apart from treating this condition, which gives you enough hassle, you can consider different hair solutions that could give you a hand such as: Wigs, hairpieces, toupees, or surgical options (hair transplant, scalp reduction).
  • What are Hairpieces
Hairpieces represent a popular method to dull thinning hair areas or partial hair loss sections. These items are designed to provide thicker appearance by smoothly blending with the individual’s natural hair.
  • Human Hair used to make hairpieces
Online Human Hairpieces are by far the best option in terms of quality and lifespan. They can be dyed, straightened, curled, and styled according to the wearer’s suggestion. Most clients prefer custom-made items that match with the texture and color of their own hair.

Human hairpieces made of European/Caucasian hair are the most expensive choice, while those made with hair collected from Asia are the least expensive one. European hair has a silky and smooth texture and comes in colors that range from pale blonde to deep black. On the other hand, the supply of European hair is pretty limited compared to the demand so that the price rises accordingly.

Asian hair is thicker, straight and may become brittle and dried after repeated chemical treatments.
  • Coverage options for hiding thinning hair
1) Part area coverage

The hairpieces are attached along the part area offering extra fullness and disguising thin hair.

2) Top area coverage

If you need coverage all over the top area, the pieces are built-in from front to back to add volume and allow you to part the hair freely.

3) Front coverage

Clip-in bangs enhance the look of an uneven hairline and successfully add texture to your own hair.
Human hairpieces are applied using different techniques:

a) Clip-in hairpieces

Clip-in hairpieces are one of the most popular options because they do not necessarily require a professional help and take less time. The clips are snapped one by one onto the existing hair and evenly distributed along the head to cover the portions with thin hair.

b) Fusion method

The human hairpieces are incorporated by the help of an adhesive such as keratin and glue. There are two methods: hot fusion, which relies on heating the glue to bond the hairpieces among the natural strands of hair, and cold fusion, considered a safer and gentler technique for fine and thin hair, which does not require heat and uses a keratin polymer to attach the extensions.

c) Weave/sew-in method

The hairpieces are woven into a fine cornrow braid made with individual’s natural hair. This method requires frequent salon visits for maintenance.

d) Tape hairpieces

The hairpieces come with a double-sided tape meant to stick together two hair extensions with your own hair sitting in between. This application is also known as the “sandwich method”.

e) Micro ring/bead hairpieces

The hair extension is attached to a small metal bead or ring, which is clamped to your real hair. The application does not involve the usage of any adhesives, solvents, or heating tools.
